Meals In Five Minutes Or Less

If you're living in a dorm setting or you just don't want to make a mess in the kitchen for just one meal, then these recipes are for you. Each recipe is designed to be made quickly and easily, without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.
I recommend, a soup mug with a vented lid when cooking. These mugs can be found in many stores, where they sell kitchen wares.

Apple Pie Oatmeal Apple Pie Oatmeal
This recipe uses the Microwave Soup Mug

½ c. quick cook oats
½ c. milk
½ c. apple, peeled and diced
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter

Mix all ingredients in the mug. Clip the lid onto the container and click open the steam vent, cook for 1 minute 30 seconds. This recipe was prepared using a 950 watt microwave. Cooking times will vary depending on the wattage of the microwave used.  

Baked Shells
This recipe uses the Microwave Soup Mug

1 c. cooked shell noodles
¼ c. pasta sauce
¼ cup shredded Mozzarella cheese plus 1 tbsp. 
½ tsp. grated Parmesan cheese

In the mug stir the pasta, sauce and ¼ cup Mozzarella cheese. On top add 1 tablespoon Mozzarella and the Parmesan. Clip the lid onto the container and click open the steam vent; cook for 1 minute 30 seconds. This recipe was prepared using a 950 watt microwave. Cooking times will vary depending on the wattage of the microwave used.  

Banana Foster
This recipe uses the Microwave Soup Mug

1 banana sliced
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter
¼ tsp. vanilla

Put banana, sugar and butter in the mug. Clip the lid onto the container and click open the steam vent, cook for 2 minutes. Stir in vanilla. This recipe was prepared using a 950 watt microwave. Cooking times will vary depending on the wattage of the microwave used.  

Chicken and Artichoke
This recipe uses the Microwave Soup Mug

½ c. cooked chicken
½ c. cooked pasta
½ c. frozen artichoke quarters
¼ cup fresh tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 tbsp. chicken broth
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/8 tsp. minced garlic
1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp. fresh basil chopped
Salt and pepper

Add artichoke, tomato, butter, broth, lemon and garlic to the mug. Clip the lid onto the container and click open the steam vent; cook for 1 minute 30 seconds. Add chicken and pasta, clip the lid back onto the container with the steam vent open and cook for 1 minute. Stir in Parmesan and basil. This recipe was prepared using a 950 watt microwave. Cooking times will vary depending on the wattage of the microwave used.  

Chicken Chili
This recipe uses the Microwave Soup Mug

¼ lb. ground chicken
½ c. salsa
1 tsp. chili seasoning
2 tbsp. shredded cheddar cheese
1 tbsp. sour cream

Crumble chicken in the mug. Clip the lid onto the container and click open the steam vent, cook 1 minute. Chop and stir then clip the lid back onto the container with the steam vent open and cook for 30 seconds. Add salsa and seasoning, then put the lid back onto the container and cook for 1 minute. Top with cheese and sour cream. This recipe was prepared using a 950 watt microwave. Cooking times will vary depending on the wattage of the microwave used.  

Chicken Fajita
This recipe uses the Microwave Soup Mug

4 oz. boneless skinless chicken cut in thin strips
¼ c. pepper 
¼ c. onion sliced in thin strips
1 tsp. fajita seasoning
1 tbsp. chicken broth 

Mix chicken, seasoning and broth in the mug. Clip the lid onto the container and click open the steam vent, cook for 2 minutes. Stir in pepper and onion, clip the lid back onto the container with the steam vent open and cook for 1 minute 30 seconds more. Serve with warm tortillas. This recipe was prepared using a 950 watt microwave. Cooking times will vary depending on the wattage of the microwave used.  

Chicken in Lemon Butter Sauce
This recipe uses the Microwave Soup Mug

4 oz. boneless skinless chicken, cut in small cubes
1 c. penne pasta
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. lemon juice
¼ tsp. minced garlic
Salt and pepper

Put the chicken and garlic into the mug then season with salt and pepper. Clip the lid onto the container and click open the steam vent; cook for 1 minute 30 seconds. Stir and then clip the lid back onto the container with the steam vent open and cook for additional 30 seconds or until the chicken is cooked through. Stir in the pasta, butter and lemon juice, then after attaching the lid with the steam vent open cook for 1 minute. This recipe was prepared using a 950 watt microwave.
