Grilling The All Time Favorites With A Twist


Today, I’m going to discuss something everyone is familiar with. Grilling HAMBURGERS. But I’m not talking about just regular hamburgers, I’m talking burgers with style and a different twist.

spicy cajun burger

Spicy Cajun Burger Recipe
3 tbsp. Dried Oregano
1 tbsp. Paprika
1 tbsp. Garlic Powder
3 tbsp. Ground Cumin
1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
2 tsp. Salt
1 lb. Ground Beef
1 tsp. Salt
1/4 c. Onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. Dried Thyme
1 Garlic Clove, minced
1/2 to 1 tsp. Hot Pepper Sauce
1/4 tsp. Dried Basil
1 tsp. Cajun Seasoning Blend
4 Hamburger Buns
Sautéed Onions (optional)
Combine the oregano, paprika, garlic, cumin, cayenne pepper, and salt into a small bowl. Combine the beef, salt, onion, thyme, garlic clove, hot sauce, basil, and 1 tsp. of the Cajun seasoning from the other bowl.  Shape into four patties, and cook in a skillet or on a grill over medium hot heat for 4 to 5 minutes per side.
Serve on buns, with sautéed onions.
Remember that any burger tastes better with cheese, you’re always welcome to add your favorite American, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Swiss to any burger if desired.

Jamaican Burger



Jamaican Burger Recipe
1 tbsp. Olive Oil
1 tsp. Olive Oil
1 ½ c. Onion, chopped
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
2/3 Habanero Pepper, chopped
1 tbsp. fresh Ginger Root, grated
¾ tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Ground Allspice
½ tsp. Ground Nutmeg
1 ½ c. cooked Black Beans, rinsed and drained
1 ½ c. cooked Long-Grain White Rice
1 2/3 c. Dry Breadcrumbs
4 Hamburger Buns split
In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbsp. of oil over medium heat.  Add the garlic and onions and cook for a few minutes.  Add in the habanero pepper until it’s tender. Then remove from the heat and pour into a bowl.  Pour in the rice, beans, and breadcrumbs, and season with allspice, nutmeg, ginger, and salt and form into 4 patties.
Over medium-high heat, fry the patties for about 10 minutes, flipping once.
Serve on buns, with your favorite toppings.

Greek Burgers


Greek Burger Recipe
1 lb. Lean Ground Beef
¼ c. Feta Cheese, crumbled
½ tsp. Dried Oregano
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
2 tbsp. Red Onion, finely chopped
½ tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. White Pepper
1 c. Plain Yogurt
1 tbsp. fresh Mint leaves, chopped
1 tbsp. fresh Dill Weed, chopped
Salt and Pepper to taste
Tomato, sliced
Cucumber, sliced thin
Pita Bread
Combine the ground beef, feta, oregano, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper.  Make sure to mix gently, and shape into 4 patties.  Then put the patties in the refrigerator. Combine the yogurt, mint, dill, salt and pepper to taste in a small bowl.  Refrigerate the sauce while grilling the burgers. Cook patties until thoroughly cooked, flipping once, for about 13 to 15 minutes.
Serve in the pita bread, with tomato, cucumber, and the yogurt sauce.

German Burger



German Burger Recipe
1 lb. lean Ground Beef
1/2 medium Onion, minced
3 tbsp. fresh Parsley, minced
1 Egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Pepper
1/8 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
2 tbsp. Flour
Butter (for frying, use about 1/4 stick at a time)
1 large Onion, thinly sliced into rings
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, egg, salt, pepper, parsley, flour, and nutmeg.  Shape the mixture into patties. In a skillet, over medium-high heat, melt the butter.  Fry the patties to your taste, 10 to 12 minutes per burger. Remove the burgers and keep them warm.  Fry the onion rings until golden.  Place the burger on a bun and top it with the fried onion.

Cuban Hamburgers
Topped with ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles, this is a great new recipe to try.
1 lb. Ground Chuck
4 Hamburger buns
8 Thin Slices of Swiss Cheese
8 Thin Slices of Ham
Pickles
4 tbsp. Mayonnaise
1 tbsp. Spicy Mustard
Pressed Garlic
Salt & Pepper
Make 4 hamburger patties and add salt and pepper to your taste.  Place them on the grill. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, spicy mustard, pressed garlic, salt and pepper. Add the slices on Swiss cheese on the patties just before they’re done, to melt. Spread the sauce on the top of the bun.  Add the burger, and add one or two slices of ham and the pickles.  Lay a second slice of cheese on top before adding the top bun.
Wrap each burger in aluminum foil, and place back on the grill.  Leave on the grill, until the bread is crispy.

Here's a new twist on how to serve burgers and if you don't cook, give this handy little guide to someone that does and request them.
Handmade ground beef patties, topped with sharp cheddar cheese, wrapped in a bacon weave, then the next step, add hotdogs as the heads, legs with slits for toes and tail.
Next step. Place on an oven rack, covered loosely with foil and baked for 20-30 minutes at 400. A little crispy, not too crunchy...just how a turtle should be, no?
