Burgers Will Never Be The Same


Once you try this dish, you’ll never go back to those regular old hamburgers again. In fact, you will never look at another hamburger as long as you have this recipe in your kitchen arsenal.

Bifteki
2 ½ lb. ground sirloin beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 eggs
Juice from 2 lemons
Salt
Ground Pepper
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 c. bread crumbs
A little olive oil
Mint
Thyme
Combine all ingredients and mix well with hands. Shape into oval patties, like hamburgers. About 16. Broil them in oven until desired doneness.
Chef’s note: This is a very simple recipe. Some people use cooked rice instead of bread crumbs. You can also omit the lemon and mint from patties and flavor cooked patties in a creamy tomato gravy. Cook meat drippings, 6 tablespoons tomato paste, 1 cup beef broth, and 1/2 cup red wine in large skillet over low heat until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in 1/2 cup sour cream. Add patties and simmer 10 minutes.
