A Sweet and Delicious Treat

Last week, I made this delicious treat for my wife and I, and to share with my grandchildren when they come over. It is very rich (which is why they are delicious), and it is a big hit with some of the grandkids that have tried some already.

Glazed Peanut Butter Bars
¾ c. butter, softened
¾ c. creamy peanut butter
¾ c. sugar
¾ c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. water
1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract
1 ½ c. all-purpose flour
1 ½ c. quick-cooking oats
¾ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. Salt
GLAZE:
1 ¼ c. milk chocolate chips
½ c. butterscotch chips
½ c. creamy peanut butter
In a large bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Beat in the eggs, water and vanilla. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.
Spread into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 325 for 18-22 minutes or until lightly browned.
For glaze, in a microwave, melt chips and peanut butter; stir until smooth. Pour over warm bars; spread evenly. Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
